Scope and acceptance

These terms apply to mcmediaunit.org and the Kunchanada Dashboard and administration services provided for Maliyadeva Media Unit. By using these services or submitting a registration, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or submit information.

School accounts and authorization

You must be authorized to register or represent your school and provide accurate information. Keep your school code and password secure and use a unique password. Do not share an account with unauthorized people. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

Contestants and event rules

School representatives are responsible for the accuracy of contestant details and for obtaining any necessary contestant, parent, guardian, or school permissions. Competition-specific rules, age limits, deadlines, verification requirements, and submission limits also apply. Submitting a registration does not guarantee eligibility, acceptance, or an award. Registration and editing may be disabled or locked by organizers.

Uploaded files and submissions

Upload only material you own or have permission to submit, including permissions for identifiable people appearing in recordings. Do not submit unlawful, harmful, abusive, malicious, or rights-infringing content. Follow the file types, sizes, and deadlines shown in the relevant submission feature.

You retain ownership of your original submissions. You grant the Media Unit and its necessary service providers permission to store, copy, access, and share them with authorized organizers and judges for competition administration and assessment. These terms do not grant a general right to publish your submissions for unrelated purposes. Any additional publication permission must be addressed in the relevant event rules or obtained separately.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to bypass verification, registration locks, account permissions, or security controls. Do not access another school’s information, impersonate others, disrupt the service, distribute malware, or make abusive automated requests. We may restrict access or remove material where necessary to protect the service, enforce event rules, or comply with law.

Website ownership

The proprietary website code and design are owned by BreadCrumb Labs, subject to the separate contributor, domain, media, and third-party rights identified in the project’s ownership notices. Initial design and implementation are credited to Dhanika (Valet.xyz); subsequent design, development, dashboard and administration work are credited to Senuth Dayawansa at BreadCrumb Labs. Using the website does not grant a license to copy or redistribute its proprietary code, design, branding, or third-party materials.

Third-party services

The service may use external authentication, storage, email and media providers. Google Drive uploads, if enabled, are subject to Google’s applicable terms and the permissions granted by the connected account owner. Third-party services may have their own limitations or availability issues.

Availability and responsibility

We aim to provide a reliable service, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or preservation of every upload. Keep copies of submitted files and your registration details. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available, without additional warranties, and we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes, questions, and disputes

We may update these terms by publishing a revised version with an updated effective date. Contact contact@mcmediaunit.org with account, submission, or legal concerns so we can attempt to resolve them. These terms are subject to applicable Sri Lankan law and any mandatory rights that apply to you.
